EMSI or Examination Management Services, Inc announced today that they are shutting down, without much warning. The uncertain and unfortunate times due to COVID-19 are said to be the primary factor for the closing.
“COVID-19 has disrupted families, communities and businesses in our country and around the world. EMSI has become a casualty of these unprecedented times, as the pandemic has severely depressed service volumes. As a result, all company operations ceased on Friday, July 3, 2020.”
The company has about 5,000 employees across all of its locations and annual revenue of more than $180 million, according to a Dun & Bradstreet profile. EMSI was a big player in the Records Retrieval Services industry, providing the service to many Law Firms and Insurance Companies in the Dallas Fort Worth region and around the country. This unexpected closing will inevitably shake up the retrieval process for a number of Attorneys, Paralegals, Adjusters, Underwriters; among others.
